Ingredients
1 cup of water
1/2 cup of milk
1 1/2 - 2 teaspoons lose black tea
1 1/2 teaspoons of sugar (or according to your preference)
Spices:
1 star anise
1 small piece of ginger
2 black peppercorns
1 green cardamom
1 clove
Instructions
- Using a small pot or even a pan add the water and heat it a little on medium heat
- Once the water gets warm - but not boiling yet - add in the black tea and the spices and gently bring to boil. Let it gently boil for a minute or so.
- Now add the sugar and the milk - do not add all the milk at once but add carefully. Milk is totally according to your preference. If you like it less milky add less, prefer a more milky chai - add more milk.
- Let all the ingredients simmer gently to infuse all the aromas.
- Using a sieve, place the ready Masala Chai into cup(s). ENJOY :) Tip: Leave the star anise in your cup as a cute garnish!
